Foundational Frameworks: Why Smart Buildings & Technology Stacks Enable the World’s Smartest Buildings
Welcome to our NexusCon 2024 event recordings! These recordings and slides are available for Nexus Pro Members only.
About NexusCon
The industry needed a different type of conference, so we built it. NexusCon 2024 was full of sponsor-free content, real-world case studies, and most importantly, our community.
We heard from 109 speakers across 24 different sessions over a span of 3 days. Although nothing beats the in-person real-time learnings from NexusCon, we are excited to release the NexusCon session recordings to our Nexus Pro Community. We have over 40 hours of hot takes, knowledge bombs, collaborations, and disagreements among smart buildings industry experts to share with you.

About the Session
Discover what’s possible—we kicked off the foundations track with some of the most impressive smart buildings case studies. But it’s important to understand that it isn’t just tech innovations that allow us to create amazing buildings; it doesn’t happen without the right digital infrastructure and business case.
In this session, Nexus Labs will provide a brief rundown of the Nexus Labs Smart Buildings Awareness course, focusing on two key concepts:
- The technology stack, horizontal architecture, and digital infrastructure necessary to set a foundation to build innovative tech.
- The outcomes and use cases that provide the business case to implement innovative tech.
After setting a foundation, we’ll do a lightning round of presentations to peek under the hood of some of the world's most innovative smart building programs to see what’s possible. We’ll hear from CannonDesign, Google, JP Morgan Chase, and Stanford about what they’ve achieved.
After each case study, we’ll take 5 minutes to unpack the technology stack and outcomes that have enabled these smart building programs to achieve their current state.
