How EllisDon's Partnership with J2 Innovations Works

December 15, 2025

EllisDon and J2 Innovations explained how they built an AI-driven" digital twin" to connect BIM, BAS, CMMS, and other building systems into a single operational model. Zoltan Szalay, Product Manager at EllisDon, and Scott Muench, VP of Customer Experience at J2 Innovations, walked through how the Finn Framework underpins EllisDon’s Echo platform.

The focus was on solving a familiar problem: advanced building systems that exist, but aren’t actually used day to day by operators. The examples leaned heavily on the platform itself, but the intent was clear—normalize the data first, then layer workflows on top.

Inside the recording, you’ll see what this approach enables—and what it depends on. The speakers break down where AI adds value once data is structured, including fault detection, commissioning, and workflow automation, and where significant integration effort is still required.

You’ll also hear concrete use cases, including healthcare coordination scenarios, that show how digital twins move from visualization to action. This recording is most useful for FM and OT leaders evaluating whether AI and digital twins are ready to support real operational work, not just planning or reporting.
