1—Member Gathering with Joe Aamidor (Recording)

Here's the recording from this week's member gathering with special guest Joe Aamidor. Joe works in product management and studies the smart buildings market diligently. We picked Joe's brain on three primary topics:
- Topic 1: what are some of the overall trends (M&A, funding rounds, partnerships) in the smart buildings market from the first half of 2021?
- Topic 2: Carbon management/sustainability software - how is it different than the analytics products we've been using and talking about for years?
- Topic 3: Small buildings... what's happening in this mini-market that used to be whitespace?
2—Members-only content from June
In case you missed them, members received three deeper dives this month:
- How to get rich in CRE—This SME workshop with Joe Gaspardone is highly recommended, and not just by me! Joe walked through how CRE owners think about investing in their buildings... and it's a surprise to many of us. Also a great follow up and deeper dive to supplement the podcast Joe and I did on this topic.
- The Lens: Small Buildings Edition—The Lens is a recurring series where I unpack the strategy and context behind the news in as few bullet points as possible. For past editions, check out Vol. 1, Vol. 2, Vol. 3. Volume 4 is a special edition focused on small buildings.
- Recording of the Live Broadcast: A data driven approach to Indoor Air Quality—Our first live broadcast was a success. Members can access the recording at the link.
3—Member conversations
As always, there have also been some great LinkedIn and Connect conversations, in case you missed any of them:
- The Wall of Shame! This is a new space on the Connect chatroom for posting examples of not-so-smart buildings and practices. Keep em' coming!
- Extraordinary Use Case for FD&D - Insights for the FD&D Software Industry—Excellent deep dive summary of a webinar that Chad Ruch recently attended. Let him know what you think!
- What if BMS specs were dependent on ROI?—Great discussion here after a nice post by Mike Barker.
- ”We are developing this by ourselves”—Interesting trend that Anders Frölander pointed out.
4—SME Workshops featuring… you!
In July we’ll host our second Nexus Pro SME workshop! Matt Schwartz will present a Building Automation Industry State of the Union. Details here.
