Nexus Marketplace Update: Digital Commissioning Software
We've expanded The Nexus Marketplace to include a much-needed Application Layer Category: Digital Commissioning Software.
Years ago, during my time as a controls contractor, I recall watching a grumpy, seasoned commissioning agent climb into the elevator well of a newly built hospital wing to dunk the newly installed leak detector into a glass of water to ensure the BMS would sound an "elevator well leak" alarm. One test, on one sensor, resulted in one checkmark on one piece of paper on the Cx agent's clipboard. All within a matter of 20 minutes.
Those days are long behind us. There are too many connected systems to spot check and manually record. Thus, the market for a scalable digital commissioning system to help engineers, owners, and contractors track the status of their construction turnover has expanded.
Digital, real-time reports enable all stakeholders to track commissioning status and accelerate remediation. More sophisticated Digital Commissioning Software integrates with other applications, directly tying commissioning and reporting to the BMS and other applications.
We define Digital Commissioning Software as "collaborative platforms that digitize the building quality assurance process, replacing manual spreadsheets with centralized issue tracking and automated testing. It ensures that complex systems meet performance standards and design intent, providing owners with a transparent digital record for long-term operational success."
Vendors like PingCx, CxAlloy, BlueRithm, CxPlanner, and Facility Grid can now be found in the Digital Commissioning Software category of The Nexus Marketplace.
