Welcome to our NexusCon 2024 event recordings! These recordings and slides are available for Nexus Pro Members only.
The industry needed a different type of conference, so we built it. NexusCon 2024 was full of sponsor-free content, real-world case studies, and most importantly, our community.
We heard from 109 speakers across 24 different sessions over a span of 3 days. Although nothing beats the in-person real-time learnings from NexusCon, we are excited to release the NexusCon session recordings to our Nexus Pro Community. We have over 40 hours of hot takes, knowledge bombs, collaborations, and disagreements among smart buildings industry experts to share with you.
In the rapidly evolving landscape of commercial real estate, traditional approaches to maintenance are being revolutionized. Gone are the days of reactive, ad hoc, and whoever-yells-the-loudest-based maintenance practices. With the advent of new software-based solutions like Fault Detection and Diagnostics (FDD), the industry is shifting toward a proactive, data-driven approach. This session will explore how FDD is transforming maintenance strategies, enabling building operators to anticipate issues before they escalate, optimizing performance, and reducing operational costs, all while enhancing the tenant experience. The following abstracts and panels will be presented in this session:
The Condition-Based Maintenance (CBM) Playbook: How Kaiser Permanente is Leveraging FDD for Smarter Preventive Maintenance
Clockworks Analytics will describe the procedure to an FDD pilot at Kaiser that has led to significant time/cost savings, including 40% time savings on AHU PMs. This session will help building owners evaluate where they are on the path to condition-based maintenance.
Case Study Presentation on 1 Bryant Park â The Worldâs First Platinum LEED Building
Owned by the Durst Organization, 1 Bryant Park is one of the most iconic buildings in New York City and, when it opened in 2008, was the first LEED Platinum skyscraper in North America. Since then, a vendor-integrated solution by TEC Systems of the Bueno Analytics Platform has created reduced friction, enhanced vendor relationships, and analytics that have further reduced the energy consumption of an already highly sustainable building.Â
Service Providerâs Leveling-Up Maintenance Support Through FDD Tools
Weâll hear from a panel of service providers who are pioneering the transition to FDD in their service-based contracts. TEC Systems, LONG Building Technologies, and MacDonald-Miller will sit together on a panel to discuss how their organizations continue to benefit from implementing FDD at their customers' sites.
Finally, the session will wrap up with a breakout discussions and a moderated synthesis trying to converge on a consensus to the question: After many years of successful FDD case studies, what are the remaining obstacles to integrating FDD into maintenance operations? How can those be overcome?Â
