Buildings IOT is the world’s leading adaptive buildings company, turning data into actions that are tailored to the needs, constraints and opportunities of properties and portfolios. They improve the operational performance and reduce the environmental impact of buildings because they understand deeply how they work, and they've built that expertise into every facet of our products and services.
At Buildings IOT, they like to joke that they are a 60-year-old start up. Their roots in buildings run deep, dating back to 1958 in commercial and industrial controls. They evolved into a controls contractor when direct digital controls (DDC) proliferated in the 90s, and they led the industry as one of the first Master Systems Integrators to bring HVAC data side-by-side with other in-building systems like lighting, access control, elevators, electrical and plumbing.
At several points along the way, Buildings IOT built their own software and delivered it to their customers. In fact, an early iteration of their fault detection and diagnostics platform was sold to Honeywell and became the basis for what is now Niagara Analytics.
In 2020, at the height of the global pandemic, Buildings IOT decided to focus their efforts more specifically on software, which has become two offerings: IOT Jetstream, an integrated data layer for secure access to data normalized against an open-sourced data model; and onPoint, a building management application for seamless command and control, analysis and issue resolution tracking across integrated systems.
Today, they operate across North America and in the United Kingdom, delivering operational improvements and energy optimization opportunities to partners and end-user customers in a diverse range of industries.
